I just passed 45,000 miles this morning on the way to work. No problems to report. Still on the original battery, second air filter and third spark plug. I've been riding the Savage daily for 16 months now. For you new owners out there, don't worry about little oil leaks from the cylinder head. It's normal for the Savage. Just wipe it off now and then and tighten the front head bolt once in a while. Always make sure your oil level never falls below the lower line. by the way, I'm still running the original belt and the front forks seals are still holding well. It seems like the savage is a pretty reliable bike. Also, I am in the process of modifying the origianl air filter by removing the paper element from the metal frame and replacing it with removable foam filter material. That way I can clean the filter and won't have to spend 32$ for a new one when it gets dirty. I'll post a message and let everyone know how it works. Ride safe and change the oil on a regular basis.
